dinner at Five Guys

We had dinner at Five Guys tonight. It was the first time Rachel and Micah had eaten there. Mmmm.

After dinner we headed to Borders. Rachel believes that’s the first time Micah’s been in a book store. While you may find that hard to believe, given his mother’s love of books, it should be noted he’s already a card-carrying member of our local library, and his personal collection of books is the source of envy of most school libraries.

I just ate a steak, and that burger is making me hungry again.

Do I dare ask about the comparison to In-N-Out? And do they have cool t-shirts?

    Was that Micah’s burger?

that burger looks quite tasty! it does conjure up memories of another restaurant with large food items that we photographed about a year ago! :) we sure miss you guys and would love to have a meal together again; we’ll make it out there…someday!

from one book lover to another: enjoy those books, micah! your mom is a smart lady! :)

Hey Mom, asking about the comparison to In-N-Out is a fair question. They are very similar in style. Their menus are simple, and they focus on doing one thing well. They each make fries from fresh potatoes. I don’t believe Five Guys has “hidden” menu items like In-N-Out. Five Guys does a great job with the toppings (e.g., lettuce, tomato, onion), giving a generous amount. Rachel thinks she might like the Five Guys fries better, but wants to reserve final judgement until a side-by-side taste test can be arranged. :-) Five Guys does sell t-shirts and such, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone (but an employee) wearing them. Not sure why.

Micah and I decided to split the burger, as both of us wanted to save room for fries …

And Dawn, I have no idea what other food item you have in mind. :-P
